Liming acidic soil results in better growth conditions, improves the botanical composition of the meadow and provides more nutritious grass with the correct mineral balance for animals.
It is important to have the right levels of calcium and magnesium in the feed. Low levels of magnesium may result in reduced feed intake, parturient paresis (milk fever) and not least enterotoxaemia. Excessive amounts of potassium in the soil inhibit calcium and magnesium absorption (antagonism).
