Extraction takes place as underground mining. After extraction, the material is crushed and stored dry in silos and warehouses. Arctic Dolomiteis delivered as an industry mineral and is used in a number of processes, including glass and steel production. Another area of application is in agriculture, where the high magnesium content contributes to the proper mineral composition in the soil. The products are exported to many countries, from Japan in the east to Ireland in the west.
The geology in the area is very complex. The deposit has undergone several folding phases and contains fields of mica schist, lenticular amphibolite and impure lime compounds. The stable quality of the raw materials is ensured through selective operation in the mine.
