Lime is an irreplaceable aid in the fight to reduce environmental damage caused by acid rain in watercourses, rivers, lakes, streams and forest soils. Liming is done by helicopter, boat or using a dosing plant. We are Norway’s largest supplier of lime and liming services. We were also one of the first companies to use lime in lakes and watercourses.
In addition to raising the pH value, lime is used to improve the spawning substrate in streams. Different methods are used for liming streams. The products can be delivered in bulk and dumped directly into the streams, they are available in different sack sizes and helicopters can also be used for spreading lime.
Lime is spread in rivers and watercourses using a dosing system. We work continuously to find optimal solutions, and we have always had a strong focus on product development and quality assurance. Our dosing plants are therefore very reliable. A successful dosing project gives fish and other biological life in the river the opportunity to develop despite the acidic conditions.
Liming of forest soils is a currently somewhat uncommon in Norway. However, the projects that have been completed have achieved great success. The method is similar to liming lakes with a helicopter, but here the product is spread using tubs in the terrain.
